Gifted Services 

The mission of the Xenia Community Schools' Office of Gifted Services and Talent Development is to expose students to a variety of rigorous educational opportunities designed to encourage the development of the gifted student's intellectual, social, creative, and emotional growth.

The administration and Board of Education of Xenia Community Schools has been committed to providing a variety of educational opportunities for the gifted students of our community for nearly 30 years. We are proud to have such a dedicated staff working with our gifted learners in a number of service settings. 

Continuum of Services for Gifted and High Achieving Students

Xenia Community Schools offers a variety of services available to students identified gifted or high achieving. These educational opportunities are available to students who meet specific criteria. For more information on these options, please contact a building administrator, school counselor, or the gifted coordinator.

These services include the following options:

  • Early Entrance to Kindergarten
  • Single Subject Acceleration
  • Whole Grade Acceleration
  • Resource Room- XTAR (Grades 3-5)
  • Resource Room- Mathematics (Grades 3-5)
  • Single Subject Enrichment Days- XTAR-OR (Grades 5)
  • Differentiated Instruction/Flexible Grouping Options in Reading (Grades 1-5)
  • Gifted Language Arts (Grades 6-8)
  • Advanced Mathematics (Grades 6-7)
  • Algebra Offered for High School Credit (Grade 8; must meet additional requirements)
  • English 9 Offered for High School Credit (Grade 8; must meet additional requirements)
  • Honors Classes
  • AP Classes
  • Obtaining College Credit While in High School Through Dual Enrollment
  • Credit Flexibility
  • Early Graduation
