In 2017-2018, the district created a Facilities Master Plan which addresses maintenance needs for all buildings. We have been doing maintenance work on every property, and will continue to do so. We are committed to building maintenance to keep all of our buildings warm, safe, and dry for students.

A letter to the Xenia Community Schools families from Dr. Lofton:

Dear Xenia Schools Families,

This coming May, we are asking our community to consider two issues on the ballot:
First, is a renewal of the Permanent Improvement Levy that funds major construction projects and upgrades, and will not increase taxes. In the past several years, these funds have supported popular projects that benefit our students, such as the recent renovation of the Bob Hope Auditorium at Xenia High School, and the restoration of the historic Benner Field House.

These funds will continue to support the work of our Master Facilities Plan, and at least some of these projects would have to be put on hold indefinitely if the PI funds were no longer available.

Second is a critical 2.3 mil Bond Issue to build a new Warner Middle School. As you are likely aware, this facility is nearly 60 years old, and does not have the infrastructure to meet the needs of our students.

I understand that many of you have questions about our facilities plans in particular as it concerns Warner Middle School, and I encourage you to read through the Frequently Asked Questions below for details about plans to build a brighter future for our middle school students and prepare them for a successful transition to high school and beyond.

Dr. Gabe Lofton
