3/26/21

  • Students who are attending the Student vs. Staff game in person will come down to the auditorium after the bell ending 7th period. Remember there is no food or drink allowed in the auditorium. Make sure to have your ticket! You will enter the auditorium though the band hallway. Any questions please see Mrs. Petraiuolo.
  • TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR THE LEUKEMIA AND LYPHMOMA FUNDRAISER! Mrs. Allen's class is still in the lead, but Mrs. Wavra's class is close behind. Will they be able to pull ahead? We'll have to wait and see. Thank you to everyone who has donated a little and a lot to help fight cancer, we could not have done it without you.
  • Class of 2021 and Class of 2022,
    The XHS Prom Committee is excited to announce that prom will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 8 to 11 at the Schindler Banquet Center located on the Xenia Legacy Campus! There will be 250 tickets available at $20 each. Dancing will be permitted, but masks must be worn at all times. Ticket sales will begin for seniors on April 7th and for juniors on April 12th. No guest tickets will be available during this ticket sales window. If you have questions, see Ms. Winston at lunch.

  • Attention today is the last day to buy your tickets to go in person and watch the student staff game tomorrow during eighth Period. Tickets are three dollars and they can be bought at all three lunches!
  • Student council members will be around today to collect your leukemia and lymphoma funds. Remember tomorrow is our last day we really want to make sure that we reach our goal, so bring in all of your change and all of your dollars and don’t forget the winner will get an awesome lunch on student council!

  • YEARBOOK: This is YOUR yearbook. Be In It! Online sales have closed, but you can still reserve your yearbook. There are only a limited number of extras. So act NOW! COST is $70.00. The deadline for submission of Senior Ads is Friday, April 9.
  • The deadline for submission of Senior Ads is for the yearbook is Friday, April 9. Forms are available in email, on the website, or in the Main Office. Cost for Senior Ads can be paid at the fee office or through Mr. Frank.
  • Candid photos for the yearbook can be submitted throughout the year in person, email, or through our app called ReplayIt by Jostens. Deadlines have passed for submission of Senior headshots and Baby Pictures.
  • There are only THREE more days to donate to your class Leukemia and Lymphoma drive. So grab all the change out of your piggy bank or the cup holder in your car and bring it in for a good cause! No donation is too small!

3/22/21

  • Alright Xenia this is our last week for the Leukemia and Lymphoma fundraiser! This week's challenge is to see which class is the most improved. Bring in all your pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars! We are so close to our goal of $2,000 but we need everyone to help! No donation is too small!
  • The library will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, period 1 through 3. Students please plan accordingly. What does that mean? It means charge your Chromebooks and bring it with you as you won't be able to borrow a charger or Chromebook from the library Tuesday morning.
  • Currently in the Leukemia and Lymphoma donation race we still have Mrs. Allen's class in first place, but Mrs. Wavra's class is very close behind. Remember the class with the most donations will receive a free breakfast or lunch from Student Council! Will someone sneak in and take over the lead? Only time will tell. And now for the winner of last week’s challenge was.................................. (I have to talk to Cayce before I know the winner).
  • The spring blood drive, hosted by Xenia's HOSA Chapter, is Monday April 12, from 9 am - 1pm in the gymnasium. We only have a week before spring break, and just a few days after to sign up to donate. You must be 16 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. You can get a permission slip from the main office, guidance office, and outside of Mrs. Wavra's room C114 and turn them into those same locations. They are due by Wednesday, April 7th, to ensure your spot and save a life!
  • Don't forget about the Athlete's In Action Bible Study on Wednesdays in Mr. Richey's room, B228. We have a great time. See Mr. Richey if you have any questions.
  • There is a late registration deadline of March 26th for any student interested in taking the April 17th ACT.
  • This year, Miss Amole's Honors Spectra class participated in the 2021 XHS Virtual Science Fair. Seven students received an "Excellent" rating from their judges' averaged scores, and 6 students received a "Superior" rating! Those students who received a "Superior" rating are: Hannah Fultz, Timothy Phillips,  Mason Rubio, Zoey Blake,  Ian Fairchild, and Quinn Lamb. Be sure to congratulate them if you see them today. Way to go guys!

3/19/21

  • Today is the last day to enter into Student Council's raffles! For one dollar you can enter to win a $10 Amazon gift card, to be co-host on BUXTV, or a $10 gift card to Starbucks.
  • Mrs. Wavra's class had a large collection for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and moved up to SECOND PLACE! Mrs. Allen's class is narrowly in the lead, can they hold on? Mr. Wuebben's class has been moved to third place. Mrs. Wavra's class is also currently winning our weekly challenge. Today is the last day for this week's challenge and we only have next week to reach our goal so keep on donating!
  • A reminder for all students - Our dress code requires that all students have their hoods down and hats off while in the building. Additionally, students who choose to listen to a personal device using headphones or ear buds should do so with one ear uncovered. Thanks in advance to all students for your cooperation with these rules.

3/18/21

  • The first ever Varsity lacrosse match happens this Friday at Doug Adams stadium. Come out and support the team as they take on Talawanda at 7 pm. All tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the gate!
  • Anyone interested in playing Girls Golf next fall, needs to contact Coach Anderson. There will be an organizational meeting in early April, once we get back from Spring Break.
  • PJ day is almost here! Tomorrow bring in $1.00 and wear your favorite PJs! All proceeds go to Leukemia and Lymphoma. AGAIN, tomorrow is PJ Day!
  • Do you want to play powderpuff? Do you want to coach? Do you want to cheer? Then you need to get your t-shirt orders to Mrs. Petraiuolo by TOMORROW! Please see Mrs. Petraiuolo with any questions.
  • Yesterday's Leukemia and Lymphoma collection took away $29 from Mrs. Allen's class, but she has been able to keep her lead in first place overall. Mr. Wuebben's class is still in second place, and Senora Scott's class has moved up to third place overall! Senora's class is also currently winning our weekly challenge. There are only two days left this week so make sure to get your dollars in!
  • There was a small mistake yesterday about Student Council's raffles, they are still being sold today and tomorrow! So if you want a chance to win a Starbucks gift card, or to eat lunch with 6 of your friends, make sure to buy a Attention Seniors:
    In the next few weeks, the Guidance Counselors will be meeting with all seniors to review transcripts and grades. In addition, counselors will be going through a senior survey to gather information on your plans for after graduation. It is important that as you receive college acceptance letters and scholarship notifications you provide that information to the Guidance Counselors so you can be recognized during the Awards Ceremony and in the Graduation Program.
    In addition, students who have enlisted or plan to enlist in the military need to let counselors know by March 26.

    Gamers Club is FINALLY starting back up! So if you've ever had dreams of world domination, taking to the stars, or exploring dark dungeons, then we have the club for you. If you're into card games, board games, or video games, come by the Xenia Gamers Club meeting the first Tuesday after Spring Break. We'll be meeting in the cafeteria from 2:30 to 4:30, over by Ms. Kadel's room. Come by and see what it's all about!

All proceeded go to Leukemia and Lymphoma society. There are also some fun raffles so come try your luck and help us support this great cause!   • This week’s Leukemia and Lymphoma class challenge is to see which Xenia class can be competitive in this year's pennies for patients’ fundraiser. The most competitive class will win some prizes. This is the class that either takes away the most from another class or has the largest dollar donations. Remember to take away from another class you must bring in dollars, so get those Franklins in!

  • Want to have fun? Eat a donut? Talk and share? Come to the Athletes in Action Bible Study this Wednesday morning, March 17, at 6:45 A.M. in Mr. Richey's room, B228. We'd love to see you there!!
  • After over a year, the XHS blood drive is returning this spring on Monday, April 12th. Every 2.5 seconds, someone is in need of blood and the pandemic has significantly reduced the blood available due to shut downs and schools closing, but the need persists. You can make a difference by signing up to donate before April 7th. You must be 16 years or older and weigh more than 110 pounds. Students can obtain a permission slip in the main office, guidance office, or in Mrs. Wavra's room, C114 and may turn it into those same locations. Details about the blood drive have been posted in your graduating class in google classroom, along with informational videos. Save up to three lives by signing up to donate blood.
  • We are excited to announce that Xenia has started a Model United Nations team!! If you're interested in developing confidence, critical thinking skills, and most importantly having fun then stop by B201 on Thursday after school. All students are welcome to our very first Model United Nations informational meeting. Scan the Model United Nations posters in the hallway for more information.

  • Hola, amigos! The Spanish Club will be meeting on Monday, March 15 after school in Señora Scott's room until 3:15. . Last meeting we took a trip to Spain. Highlights included La Tomatina in Buñol, and an amazing achitectural tour of Barcelona visiting La Sagrada Familia, the Parque Guell and other beautiful places created by Antoni Gaudí.
    We will be taking a trip to another Spanish speaking country, so you won't want to miss out on the adventure!!! Come join the fun!

    We have a GSA meeting TODAY, after school, from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm, in Mrs. Wavra's room (C114, in the art hallway). We will be watching Netflix's new musical "The PROM" and working on club t-shirt designs!
  • Friday, March 19th is PJ day! Pay $1 to wear your warmest, coziest PJs all day!
  • Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to our L&L fundraiser, this week was the most we have every raised in one week, with $900! Let’s not slow down now, grab all your pennies and bring them in. The completion this week is for the class with the most pennies. We only have three days this week so get those Lincolns in!

  • Executive Board applications are due today to Mrs. Petraiuolo. Make sure to get them in before the end of the day!
  • StuCo students will be around 5th period to collect your buckets for the L&L collection. The current standings are: Mrs. Wavra, Mrs. Scott, and Mr. Matson. This week's competition is to see which class can raise the most money for this week. The winning class will be announced on BuxTv on Monday, and prizes will be delivered for Tuesday's class.

  • There will be a meeting for all Boys Soccer players interested in playing soccer in the fall for Xenia High School. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 9th at 6pm in the high school cafeteria. Any interested players should be there with a parent.
  • An important message from your Dress Code Police AKA teachers and administrators:

    We are all excited for spring and the warmer weather that comes with the season, but please remember the following dress code expectations:

    No midriff tops, no under garments should be visible, no spaghetti strap tanks, no bottoms shorter than mid thigh, no hats, and no sunglasses! Violators will receive detentions!

  • Over the weekend the Xenia Winterguard tied for 1st place in their latest competition that took place at Trent Arena. If you see them in the hallway please congratulate them on this awesome achievement.

  • Oh, Good grief! How long has it been since we've had a musical???? Never fear, Charlie Brown is here! This is the LAST DAY for Auditions for the Spring Musical, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" All students may audition by picking up an audition packet in the choir room for a time slot on the bulletin board. Sign-up will be available until Tuesday, March 2nd at 3:00pm. See Mr. Matson with any questions.
  • Yesterday kicked off our patients for pennies program! Remember to bring in change to compete against other classes for some great prizes. This week the challenge is to see which class can bring in the most! This first challenge ends Friday, and winners will be announced Monday. This fundraiser goes all month and there are Hat day is this Thursday, March 4th. Bring in $1.00 and show off your favorite hat! All proceeds go to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma society! many more prizes to win, so bring in your change!
  • Today is Turn it In Tuesday. If you received an overdue notice then it's time to turn in or renew your library book. Do it today. And it's also time for Cloey Neal, Jayterrion Smith, Elijah Sheffield and Tristan Bascomb to turn in loaner Chromebooks and chargers. Do it now.
