The students in Mrs. Black's 7th grade Advanced Language Arts class have been studying narrative writing and the hero's journey. The current unit about heroes in Greek and Roman mythology aligns with their study of historical events in Social Studies class.

At the end of the unit, the students wrote an original myth and created a 3D model of the monster in their story. They shared their myths with the class through oral tradition, similar to the way that myths and stories were first shared in the time of the Ancient Greeks.

On the day they shared their myths, parents were invited to be part of the storytelling fun. A few parents were able to join us and witness the hard work of their student and their classmates.
