2025 Educator & Staff of the Year Awards
Xenia Community Schools announced the 2025 Educator of the Year and Staff Person of the Year at the back-to-school Convocation on Monday, August 18.
Warner Middle School English teacher Ronna Couser was awarded the Educator of the Year, and maintenance technician Wes Barr was recognized as the Staff Person of the Year.
Awardees are nominated at the end of each year school year, with recognition being given at the start of the following school year. The awardees receive a $1000 stipend, supported by the Doug Adams Trust.
ABOUT THE 2025 AWARDEES
Ronna Couser has been an employee of the district since 1999. For 26 years, Ronna Couser has demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to her students and colleagues.
In her current role in our 8th grade English Language Arts department, Ronna has consistently modeled her outstanding leadership qualities. Her innovative teaching methods, collaborative approach, and dedication to student success have significantly enriched the learning experience for both students and teachers alike.
Wes Barr has been with the district since 2007. Over those 18 years, Wesley Barr has been a fixture at Xenia Community Schools. As a maintenance technician who is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of our facilities, he is truly the backbone of our building operations.
What sets Wes apart is his technical expertise, his commitment to excellence, and his positive impact on the people around him. He is dependable, hardworking, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our schools are safe, clean, and fully operational. His work has a direct and lasting impact on the learning environment of our students and the daily experiences of our staff.
