Gear Up for Growth: Spring 2026 Testing

How Parents & Families Can Help Students Succeed
Spring is a season of growth, and in our schools, it is a time for students to showcase everything they’ve learned this year. As we head into the 2026 Spring Testing window, our teachers are working hard to ensure students feel prepared and confident. While in the classroom, students are practicing active test-taking strategies, like pacing themselves and staying focused, but we know that success starts at home!
A little extra support goes a long way in reducing brain fog and testing jitters. Consider these ways you can help your student succeed — before they even leave the house:
- Physical Readiness: Ensure your student gets a full night's sleep (8–10 hours), minimizes screen time the night before, and arrives at school on time. A body that isn't tired means a mind that can focus!
- Healthy Fuel: A balanced breakfast with protein and complex carbs (like eggs or oatmeal) provides steady energy, avoiding a sugar crash during testing blocks.
- Emotional Support: Keep the mornings low-stress. A calm environment before school helps students walk into the building with a clear head.
- Positive Mindset: Children can pick up on parental stress, so model confidence and remind them that these tests are just a chance to show what they know. Encourage them to do their best, but emphasize that their worth isn't defined by a score.
Pro Tip: Make sure your student’s Chromebook device is fully charged the night before testing, and don't forget your power cord.
