History in the Making: XHS JV Academic Team Shines at Nationals

While most were relaxing last weekend, the Xenia High School JV Academic Team headed to Arlington, VA, to face off against the nation’s brightest at the History Bowl Nationals, where more than 60 teams competed across all divisions.
The results? Competing in the Small School Standard Division, the team showcased an impressive depth of knowledge across an array of historical eras and topics. Their hard work and quick buzzing paid off, securing a fantastic fourth-place finish in their division! In addition, Easton Butler placed in the top half of all entrants in the rigorous American Geography written test.
When they weren't in the buzzer seats, the team took full advantage of being next door to our nation's capital, taking the time to explore Washington D.C. They visited iconic monuments and experienced some of the very history they study in the classroom firsthand.
Congratulations to these dedicated students who represented XHS with excellence on the national stage: Ava Wirth, Braxton Frauman, Caden Vandergriff, Devon Bottorff, Easton Butler, and Michael Berry.
