Putt-ing Creativity to Work: XTAR’s Student-Designed Course

In an exciting partnership with Eddie Thompson of G.O.A.T. Golf, our fifth grade XTAR students are designing a fully functional mini-golf course!
On Friday, May 8, XTAR will host a Mini Golf Fundraiser at Xenia Preschool from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. The entire course has been designed by the students, and will be brought to life by G.O.A.T. Golf.
More than just fun and games, this project has been a hands-on learning experience in design and planning. To create the holes on their mini-golf course, students have made a scaled design of their hole on graph paper, drafted a digital design on Canva or Google Draw, created a scaled model, and have even laid it out in real dimensions with masking tape in our hallways to make sure it is just right.
Our students are aiming for a massive 36-hole layout, plus a dedicated "Junior Course" for children ages 4 and under, which will be free to play that evening!
Of course, they want to keep the event affordable for families:
- Individual: $3 for 9 holes
- Group Special: $10 for a group of six to play 9 holes
While you play, plan to grab a treat! Food trucks on site: Beach Brothers BBQ, Crumbl Cookies, Hey Sis! Let's Drink, Lou & Crew's, and What the Taco?
