Growing for the Future at Cox Elementary

On Friday, April 24, Cox Elementary celebrated Arbor Day in the best way possible — by getting our hands dirty! Huge thanks to the Greene Soil and Water Conservation District for visiting our school and leading a special tree-planting ceremony that was also attended by Mayor Reynolds.
The whole school came out to watch the ceremony as our third graders participated by putting a cup of dirt on the tree. To keep the celebration growing, each third grader also received a tree of their own to take home and plant.
Our students learned about the vital role trees play in our ecosystem, from cleaning our air to providing habitats for local wildlife. We can’t wait to watch this tree grow alongside our students for years to come!
