As our school district navigates state budget adjustments alongside our municipal financial advisors, we are taking a proactive look at how we allocate resources to serve our students and community best.

Many of the programs, services, and staffing levels in our schools are required by state law and will always remain a core foundation of XCS. Thanks to the support of this community, our district currently operates well above state minimums in many areas, offering expanded coursework, smaller class sizes, and rich extracurricular opportunities. The projected state budget pressures, however, require us to plan carefully for the future.

The XCS Board of Education is completing work sessions with the district’s municipal advisor throughout the fall. Session dates: 

• Monday, September 21, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. (Special Meeting – Finance Session 1)  
• Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. (Special Meeting – Finance Session 2)  
• Monday, November 9, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. (Special Meeting – Finance Session 3)  
• Tuesday, December 1, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. (Special Meeting – Finance Session 4)  

All board meeting, including work sessions, will be livestreamed on the XCS Board page, and are available to watch on demand within 1-2 days following each meeting.

The agenda for every Board meeting will be available online through the district’s Board Docs site, and presentation slides from presenters are posted to the agenda after each meeting.
